Victor Lim chosen to complete RNCM IAD

We’re delighted to announce that following audition, pianist Victor Lim – who we recently appointed as Head of Keyboard here at Rossall School – has been chosen to undertake the Royal Northern College of Music’s (RNCM) International Artist Diploma.

This prestigious one-year qualification is for artists on the cusp of international careers.

Commencing in September, Victor will benefit from intensive tuition and specialist classes, and receive advanced musical training to the highest level in performance, honing his artistic, technical, presentation and communication skills. He will also expand his recital, concerto and operatic repertory and benefit from exciting opportunities both at the College and externally.

This will serve to benefit our students as Victor passes on what he learns to the next generation of aspiring pianists.

David Horne, RNCM’s Head of Graduate School said: ‘Victor is an outstanding artist with admirably wide repertoire interests both in solo and chamber music, forming a number of successful artistic collaborative partnerships. He is also passionate in engaging with music-making in the community and works with the Olympias Music Foundation in Manchester. We are delighted to have Victor on the International Artist Programme and will look forward to him joining us in the 22-23 academic year.’

An RNCM alumnus and Gold Medal winner, Victor graduated last year with a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Studies and was recently chosen as a City Music Foundation Artist. He gave his first public appearance during the 2012 BBC Young Musicians of the Year competition. Since then he’s performed internationally as a soloist and collaborative pianist in the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Romania, China, Singapore and South Korea.
