STEM Challenge

Following on from their success in the preliminary rounds of the Blackpool Gazette’s STEM Challenge, our team of Year 9 students was once again in action at Blackpool and the Fylde College for the final.

With the additional challenge of building a second plane within the time allowed, the team of Harriet Clough, Andres Hernadez Maduro, Alex Marsden and William Robinson set to work.

Unfortunately, the team’s plane did not fly quite as straight as they would have liked in the first two rounds, and although the plane redeemed itself in the third round, landing on the target and scoring 200 points, it was not enough to secure a win.

Rossall ended the competition in a respectable 7th place. Well done to Harriet, Andres, Alex and William for displaying some excellent STEM skills and teamwork.
