Rossall Wins ISFA Semi Final

Headmaster's First XI
Headmaster’s First XI fresh from victory at Manchester Grammar School.

It was a momentous occasion for Rossall School our Headmaster’s First XI took to the pitch for our first time playing in the Boodles ISFA Semi-Finals. We were on the road with an away trip to Manchester Grammar School and spirits were high before the game.

Rossall started the game on the front foot and had several opportunities in the opening minutes to take the lead but just missed out on converting these chances.

Manchester Grammar then got a foot hold in the game and pressed forward throughout the first half and they were unfortunate not to break the deadlock before half time meaning the teams went into the break goalless.

Rossall came out for the second half strongly and showed more urgency resulting in an early goal. This allowed Rossall to settle and were then able to control the game scoring another 2 in quick succession leaving the final result a 3-0 win for Rossall.

Overall the day was a great advert for Independent School’s football which showed how much it meant to both of the teams to be at this stage in the competition.

We are now moving on to the ISFA Final at MK Dons in Milton Keynes on 21st of March at 19:00. More information and tickets will be available on this ISFA page shortly: ISFA Finals.
