MF MAD Night

MF boys raise thousands for charity with MAD Night fun!

The boys from Mitre Fleur De Lys reached an impressive fundraising total in their continued work to support Donna’s Dream House with their annual fundraising, MAD Night of entertainment.

The night requires hours of preparation around the already full academic and activity schedule of each MF student. From the first day of term in September to moments before the curtains open on show night every MF boy works hard to perfect their performances.

Saturday evening marked the eighth year of MF MAD Night. Hosted by MF Houseparent Mr Stuart Corrie and Year 12 pupil Billy Hoggmascall, the pair delivered plenty of laughs in a night packed with music, comedy and dance.

Each member of MF House displayed their talents, and team bond, in impressive group numbers; some even stepping out alone to perform in front of the three hundred strong crowd.

Matthew Peill impressed with an operatic rendition of ‘O Sole Mio’ – the audience reaction changing from awe to amusement as he began to serenade a Cornetto with the popular parody version of the track.

Billy Hoggmascall proved his versatility performing his own composition on the piano, entitled ‘Le Chiot Ludique’, before later acting and performing in the MF Barbershop Quartet. Joining him in the Quartet was Téo Beaumé who also showed off his composition and vocal abilities with an emotive performance of the self-penned song ‘When You Smiled’.

The house even revived old favourite ‘The Sand Dance’ much to the enjoyment and amusement of the audience.

Since 2008 MF House have raised over £15,000 for Donna’s Dream House, and despite 2016 being Mr Corrie’s final year leading the house, the boys of MF plan to continue this house tradition and raise much more for this worthy charity in the years to come.
