Fleetwood Town has signed Year 13 students Joe Hunter (SE) and Ollie Leggett (MF) on extended schoolboy forms.
Both Joe and Ollie are members of our Elite Football programme in partnership with Fleetwood Town FC and have successfully completed trials with the U18s at the club.
Joe plays in the centre of midfield and joined Rossall in Year 12 to study A-Levels in the Sixth Form.
Ollie has been at Rossall since Year 6, he plays left-back. Ollie previously played in FTFC’s U15 Academy.
Director of Football, Mr Joseph Newson, said of the signings:
“This is fantastic news and testament to how hard the boys work on a daily basis.
Joe joined the school and the football programme last year and has worked incredibly hard on and off the pitch, maintaining his high academic grades as well as his footballing development, and has impressed throughout training and games which lead to his trial with Fleetwood.
In terms of Ollie, I actually signed him in the Academy at Fleetwood 6 years ago and again has worked hard since his release to continue to improve and develop which has given him this fantastic opportunity at the club again.
Both boys have impressed the staff at Fleetwood both within training sessions at school when invited into the club and we are proud of them for being rewarded with their extended schoolboy contract.”
