Booking a visit with us is the perfect next step. The ideal way to see our Senior School, and meet our staff is to attend one of our Open Days or enjoy a personalised individual visit.

We would love the opportunity to welcome you to Rossall School so that you can have a good look around, get to know us and see why we may well be the perfect fit for your child or children.

Step 4 – Assessments & scholarships

All pupils entering Year 7 and Year 9 will be required to sit the Rossall School Entrance Examination which comprises written tests in the following subjects:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Non-Verbal Reasoning

For entry into Year 7 and Year 9, we offer a variety of scholarships.

Scholarships are awards based on merit/excellence in the fields of academics, sport, music, art and performing arts/drama. Scholarships are reviewed annually in light of a pupil’s achievement, effort, attitude and behaviour.

Scholarship application deadlines occur at the end of the Michaelmas Term the year preceding entry.

Families will be notified if an award is forthcoming soon after all the assessments and interviews have been completed.

Visit our scholarships page for more information.

Pupils entering Years 8 and 10 will be required to sit placement tests in English and Mathematics.

All pupils applying for Rossall School will be required to have an interview with the Headmaster and provide a handwritten personal statement of no longer than 2-sides of A4.

Step 5 - Enjoy a taster day

So you have had a visit, you have met key staff, but want to know more? A taster day gives your child the opportunity to see what they think of Rossall. If you would like to book a taster day (this does not incur any additional cost), then please contact our Admissions Team.

Step 6 - Offer & acceptance of a place

Providing we have the space and capacity to accept your child, we will let you know as soon as possible if your child has been successful.

Upon confirmation of acceptance – this includes a deposit of either £500 (UK pupil) or £2,500 (Overseas pupils), we will send you a welcome pack which will have all the information you require, from the shape of the day, to what uniform you need to purchase. There will also be a number of forms that you will need to complete and send back to us.
