Summer Week 1 – Message from the Junior Headmaster

Dear Parents

The term has started brightly for all of the pupils in the Junior School. Remote learning is back in full swing and the children have been impressing their teachers on a daily basis. The adaptability and resilience of our youngest learners never ceases to amaze me, as they continue to go from strength to strength. Whilst I realise they may well be finding life very different at the moment, I also know that when the light at the end of the tunnel finally reaches us, the children will be all the more stronger for the journey they have been on.

The social interaction that the children so rightly crave is now also being addressed, through our introduction of ‘Zoom form periods’, which I know are going to be a huge success. The focus on the well-being of our children and indeed the whole Rossall community, is always in our thoughts and the staff will continue to speak with pupils and parents on a regular basis.

In today’s assembly, I spoke to the children about Captain Tom Moore, the 99 year old military veteran, who has raised in excess of £15 million towards the NHS Together charities. Examples such as this, only goes to prove the numerous messages we have passed to the children over the years; one person’s actions can make a difference. Congratulations to Tom for his mammoth effort. I wonder how many laps the children can do in their gardens… on your marks, get set, GO!

I hope you all have a relaxing weekend.

Mr Turner
