Rossall fund local schools’ art equipment

Rossall School invited local Pre-Schools to enter a Wildlife themed mini masterpiece competition and local Junior Schools to enter a Wildlife themed photography competition.

The winners were announced at Rossall’s Open Day and the winners’ schools were awarded a fantastic prize of £250 to spend on art equipment. The individual winner and runner-up also received a small gift for taking part.

The standard of entry was superb and Rossall School’s Head of Art, Mrs Sarah Holder Williams, had an incredibly hard time picking out only two from each category.

Congratulations to the winners and runners-up in both categories.

Junior School Wildlife Photography Competition

Winner:

Edward Donleavy, age 11, from Stanah Primary School, for his superb photograph of a monkey, taken at South Lakes Zoo.
Mrs Holder Williams commented: “This image stood out for me because of the beautiful composition and wonderful texture. It really portrays the monkey’s attitude at the time”

Runner-up:

Ellie Brumwell, age 8, from Hambleton Primary Academy, for her very well composed, angled image of a butterfly resting on a fuchsia.

Pre-School Wildlife Mini Masterpiece Competition

Winner:
