Summer Week 10 – Message from the Junior Headmaster

Dear Parents,

Despite the driving wind and rain, it still feels like July! Having over 80% of pupils back in School has meant that we have finished the academic year with a closure that would have been exceptionally difficult remotely. The children have learnt, laughed and played and will be far more ready for a new start in September.

We bid a fond farewell to our Year 6 pupils as they transition through to Senior School and beyond. They have been a fantastic advert for Rossall during these most challenging of times and they were rightly rewarded for their endeavours and resilience at our Prize Giving event on Thursday. Congratulations to them all on a wonderful occasion.

Yesterday provided the opportunity for the pupils to take part in a virtual transition day that I know they thoroughly enjoyed. All pupils were able to participate, either from home or in school, and we had a truly international flavour with two of our new children joining us from India and Austria! I know that the videos of the teachers were wonderfully accepted by the pupils, and there is now a great expectation and excitement for what lies ahead.

The reports have been posted to the portal today and an email has been sent to you with further instructions. I hope you will find these an informative account of the remote learning throughout this term.

My sincerest of thanks to the parents of the Junior School for your exceptional support throughout this most challenging of academic years. I hope you all have a restful and enjoyable summer (hopefully with some better weather) and will see you in September. For those moving up or on, I wish you nothing but success and happiness for the future.

Mr Turner
Headmaster of Rossall Junior School
