Siqian Li will perform a diverse and exciting programme featuring Carl Vine’s dreamlike Five Bagatelles, Liszt’s greatest piano work, the formidable and dazzling Sonata in B Minor, Ravel’s radiant and vivid La Valse, which has been brought to life by the brilliant pianist and arranger Alexander Korsantia. She will also give a performance of Tan Dun’s Eight Memories in Watercolour ‘a diary of longing’ inspired by folk songs of the composer’s culture and memories of his childhood in Hunan Province’, which is a work that Siqian was passionate to bring to the stage tonight.
